March 17th

Today looks like:

Deep, cloudless blue skies lined with jet trails.
Glorious sunshine.
English and Latin class on the front steps of Central Hall.
Sidewalk chalk to-do lists.
The anticipation of an afternoon outside with a stack of books on the atonement.
A lunch date with a dear friend.
Dresses and sandals.
Sunglasses.
Apples and peanut butter toast.
Visits from friends for the hour that I am chained inside to a desk and a phone.
(Don't worry, Mom, I'll be studying today; just not inside at a desk.)
Blue shirts and yellow sweaters and a pink tie.
Loud birds.
A light breeze.

Pulling myself out of bed only to find that today-like everyday-is completely worth waking up for.

And this is why: "I trust Him so much that I do not doubt He will provide whatever I need for body and soul, and He will turn to my good whatever adversity He sends me in this sad world. He is able to do this because He is almighty God; He desires to do this because He is a faithful Father." -Heidelberg Catechism
