Christmas is grace.
It's the grace that reveals the glory of God, that was made known to us through the Word becoming flesh.
It's' the grace that brings my soul to a place of wonder as I see the cross where the perfect Savior was forsaken by God for my sin.
It's the grace that allows fellowship with God, so that I can spend my mornings in prayer at His throne.
It's the grace that brings joy to this home, joy that looks like laughter around the dinner table, and quiet smirks at inside jokes.
It's the grace that brings peace in all situations as it reminds me of God's perfect and wonderful sovereignty, of the assurance that God is and will be glorified in every moment of every day.
It's the grace that opens my heart to see and to love that God is the gospel, that Christ didn't just come to earth to save me from my sins, but ultimately so that God himself might be glorified.
It's the grace that seems to cover each day in light.
Christmas looks like light this year. Blinding, yet comforting. Consuming, and glorious. Perhaps because Christ is light. The little baby in a manger, who later went willingly to Calvary for sins that belonged to everyone but himself, is the brightest of light to a dark soul.
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. -Hebrews 1:3
