Wonder

In a past honors discussion, Dr. Smith described wonder as the passion of the soul that arises when we become aware of ignorance. This awareness then brings a passionate desire for truth. This really struck me. I had never heard someone talk about that word and the idea behind it. I knew I had felt that passion before, yet never could put words quite like that to it. Since then, I have found myself walking around more aware of the wonder I find in light, or the sky, or the breeze. This wonder almost brings a sense of urgency to my thoughts and actions: I want to learn as much as I can about so many new things simply so that I can continue to wonder. When I am actively aware that I am experiencing wonder, my thoughts often turn to wonder at Christ's love for me displayed on the cross. I am very grateful for how even the smallest pieces of knowledge bring new ways to see God's glory and love reflected in the world around me.

Umm, yes, Shannon. Everything you just said encompasses so much of what I've so often felt but never put into words. I love when that happens - when someone else puts into words an emotion or thought you've felt but have never before expressed. Thank you for your delight in beauty.
AND...how is college? Oh my goodness, I feel so bad that I haven't asked you that yet. And your address there is?
