Mom and I had the opportunity to go to Washington, D.C. yesterday for Hillsdale College's Churchill Dinner. The dinner has been held for the past nine years in honor of Churchill's birth. It was such a fun evening.

The dinner was held at the Mayflower Hotel. The ballroom was gorgeous, the food was great, and all the people there were so nice. I got to meet the director of admissions and talked to him for at least twenty minutes--he's great. I also got to meet the president of the college.

The speaker? Rush Limbaugh. It was so funny when he started speaking. I'm so used to hearing his voice on the radio, it was weird to actually see him speaking. But so great too--I enjoyed it alot.

Seeing Andrew is always a treat. :-)

But the best, best, best part of the evening? Meeting supreme court justice Clarence Thomas. That photo is for real. He shook my hand, and put his arm around me and said "Who's taking the picture?" And then he shook my hand again and said a few more things. I think that made my year.

Clarence Thomas and Andrew in the same day?! I would've died.
oh my word, that is amazing!
I think the smile is a liiiiitle bit bigger for Clarence than for Andrew . . .
Sounds like a wonderfully fun evening, Shannon! And can I just say that you look beautiful =)
